DECC publishes response to FIT consultation Phase 2A

DECC today published their response to the Feed-in Tariff Scheme Consultation on Comprehensive Review Phase 2A: Solar PV cost control. A number of changes to the FIT scheme will come into force from the 1st August 2012.

Key changes include:

• Lower tariffs rates, starting at 16p/kWh for <4kW
• Multiple installation tariff at 90% of standard tariff
• Export tariff increased to 4.5p/kWh
• Tariff lifetime reduced to 20 years
• Contingent degression mechanism, with tariffs potentially changing every 3 months from 1 November
