The National Audit Office has pulished a report examining the system protecting consumers from scams, unfair trading, and unsafe goods. It concludes that the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has made progress since its 2011 review, but needs to do more, particularly in the context of the growth of e-commerce. It also identifies a funding shortage for Trading Standards departments.
